Here we see our Capillary mat and mini stand designed for our 3 tray types types, 1 of the main reasons for using the capillary mat is it makes watering very easy & you can take full use of the available depth of the trays ie more water less often. It's good to have a 2nd tray so if the water does become coloured you can just swap the trays and clean the one you have removed. The pot sits on the capillary mat which is elevated to the level of the overflow channel of the tray on the left & just below the top of the other 2 tray types. 3 types of grill lifters (i.e. the white grill for the 330 x 245 mm Microgreen trays)
1 – set of 4 external lifters, used by themselves for increasing the reservoir and maintaining dryness of the growing medium e.g. for SnowPea Wheatgrass.
2 – set of 2 large lifters located underneath the tray in the centre to be used in conjunction with the 4 external lifters for stabilising the grill and increasing the water reservoir e.g. for longer term Microgreen such as Beetroot and Silver Beat or for thirsty potted plants like Mint.
3 – set of 2 smaller lifters located underneath the tray in the centre, stabilising the grill, used with punnets for medium-term microgreens such as Rocket and Coriander. The other use is with small potted herbs.

Microgreen tray lifter, is used to elevate the trays closer to the light source. Comes with stainless steel attachments. As you can see in the pictures it can be used for both types of rectangular trays. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product or Click to hide.
These Punnets are very handy for growing micro-greens, they give more depth for the roots. You can fit 6 per tray, comes with the option of covers.
As you can see the pictures can be used to grow sizeable small-scale leaf greens like Kale, ruby red Silver-beet (Chard), great for Rocket, also an excellent solution where people are only going to grow small amounts e.g. you can fit up to 6 per tray meaning in one tray you can have various stages of growth of the 1 or 2 Micro-greens or just grow a variety if you are a small-time Micro-green eater. Vegetable storage kit - this kit consists of 2 cotton bags, one mesh bag, and a clip to seal plastic bags. Can be used to store leafy greens, sprouts, vegetables in general and can also be used as a shopping/carry bag also designed to fold into a small package.
This is the method I now use to store my sprouts and salad greens also other vegetables. Leafy greens & sprouts, it's best to store them 1st in a mesh bag, any damp material will not stick to the cotton bag (meaning you do not have to wash the cotton bag every time you change it). So the simple procedure is put the leafy greens inside the mesh bag, zip it up, place inside the cotton bag, then place inside a plastic bag that doesn't have any holes in it, gently squeeze the air out and secure with the clip. Microgreen Base Stand for a single 330x245mm tray. You have the option of 2 different shelf heights i.e. distance between the tray and the lights. It also has the option of including a Perspex shelf which comes with adjustable height feet, allowing you to place power supply and excess cabling out of sight. Microgreen Stand Shelf for a single 330x245mm tray. You have the option of 2 different shelf heights i.e. distance between the tray and the lights. It also has the option of including a Perspex shelf. Other advantages of using the Perspex shelf are that you can use a different type of pot plant i.e. that doesn’t use our rectangular tray, may be aesthetically more pleasing, also the Perspex shelf will diminish the possibility of spillage as it will collect 1st on the Perspex before dripping down onto either the floor or 1 of the lights in particular 25 W light is not waterproof whereas the 5 and 10W. and 100W lights are. Microgreen LED Kit 15W-30W
This kit gives you the parts and options to either attach 3 or 6 5W LED Microgreen lights to our stand or connect directly to a piece of wood e.g a cupboard shelf.
The advantage of these lights are that they are low-power, high quality (Samsung LED), they are only operating at about 80% intensity, due to the losses in the 2m attachment cable, meaning they will last a very very long time. They are also extremely water resistant so any spillage is not a problem and spreading 3 across the top of the trays gives a very even spread of light.
So you get the base kit (what is inside the red line and various options e.g. the power supply and breakout cabling can support up to 6 lights so there is the option of an extra 3 lights, what this means is that adding these gives you the ability to use 2 shelves if using our stand. Also if using our stand you you will need to choose the option of our acrylic brackets, which comes with cable ties allowing for securing the cable in a neat manner and also the attachment of 1 sticky insect trap per shelf or if you want to mount say to the underside of a bookshelf, then you have the option of a clip that can be screwed into the wood on the underside, coming with a nylon washer to create a small airgap for better cooling. Microgreen LED Kit 25W
A 25 W. LED light panel with a mix of white and red LEDs, meaning you can grow a wide range of vegetables or even flower/fruiting plants. It comes with a 2m extension cable power supply and steel cable. We also supply cable ties which are much more flexible when connecting to our stands and also with regard to securing the cable to the vertical sections of the stand at the rear.
1 of the advantages is that the LEDs are enclosed in a reflective cone, this narrows the spread of each LED, meaning more intensity.
The only downside of this light is that it is not water resistant so you have to be very careful about spillage from trays above. If you do have a spillage make sure you get the sponge out and get rid of excess water as quickly as possible, if you have the time then there are a couple of preventative measures you can take the 1st 1 is just to run a silicon bead around the edges and over the screws heads, this will create a small dam that will enable you time to remove the water before it seeps down underneath, the other alternative is to cover with aluminium foil as you will see displayed in a later slide. Microgreen Herb LED Kit 100W
This is our 100 W. LED, which can be used for larger plants it comes with a mix of white LEDs giving it full spectrum with the addition of 660 nm red LEDs, allowing for a wide range of vegetables to be grown, along with flower and fruiting types. You can see from the picture that if you are mounting it on the top of the stand it is very easy as it matches our stand dimensions perfectly and just rests in place. The light is water resistant so light spillage is not a problem. The parts that come with it are 1- mains power cable connecting to the power supply which is mounted on top of the light, 1.8 m close, 2- metal cable connectors 3- and adjustable extension cable allowing you to move the light up and down, not really applicable if using with our stand but if using in another application could be very useful if your ceiling is high, 4- a connector plate which allows you to connect the lights together i.e. you could connect them 1, 2, 3 or 4 in a row and then you only need one cable to hold it up, which again could be connected to the movable extension cable, or you could increase the grow area by connecting 4 together in a square. The picture on the right shows a basil plant being grown on a pillory Matt, sitting in 1 of our Microgreen trays, the mid-front crossbar has been removed allowing you to easily remove the plant and tray if you would like to clean the base or for any other reason. 470x170mm Tray Kits

Base Kit for indoor Window Ledge Micro-greens or Herbs. The kit is designed to help you grow micro-greens and herbs on narrow indoor window ledges, it comes with the option of 2 different coloured base trays and 2 different types of stabilisation. If you have a very narrow window ledge i.e. 75 mm then the only option is to use the weight option, the tray is already set such that the centre of gravity is slightly towards the window but you will need to add the extra weights if you have this narrow area to work with otherwise you can use the extension arms. It also comes with the option of microgreens/herb organic based fertiliser and vermiculite, in most situations you would need this for growing microgreens, but you may have your own solutions so we do not added as a standard, also if you just want to put pot plants in the trays you may not need this. You can add extra options to this kit depending on what it is you wish to grow, you can also add an extra vertical shelf above. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product Or Click to hide.
Base Kit for Bookshelf / Bench Top Light Stand. The kit is designed to help you grow micro-greens or herbs on a kitchen bench top or bookshelf or similar where you have limited depth. You have the option of 2 heights the smaller height is ideal for micro-greens and comes with 2x 10 W lights, the larger height can be used to grow small potted herbs and comes with 3x 10 W. lights. As you will see in the following pictures there is a range of different ways in which you can do the micro-greens or potted herbs, these can be purchased separately in the parts section for this particular tray type. If you are choosing the 2 shelf option then you need to select 1 of the tray, colour options as the 2nd shelf needs the support arms to support the trays as well as to attach the lights.
With regard to the light/tray support arms, there are 2 types. One type is narrow will & just designed to fit the width of our rectangular tray (this 1 is used on the base shelf, although most people will just remove the front bar and place the growing micro-greens or pot plants plants directly on the shelf or bench, if you don't need the extra room i.e. growing microgreens, then you can leave the front metal cross piece & place the tray on the base arms and place the insect traps underneath. The other one is wider and allows you to place the extra i.e. 2nd or 3rd light (also to note they are attached to these arms with a rotating connection), this is very convenient when growing in a bookshelf as you can pivot the outer light back in towards the cupboard back wall. Note if you are just going to use it on a kitchen bench-top, and you do not want the support arms/light extending out past the edge of the trays then please let us know and we'll exchange the longer arms for short arms, the short arms will support up to 4 lights. 230mm Round Tray Kits (Parts)
Micro Green Kit 230mm Diameter Round Tray Cover, if you do not purchase the kit which contains a cover then you can purchase it later if you think you may need it. Personally I would use it when doing Radish, Broccoli, Kale, but not with longer term seeds such as Rocket or Coriander which are best covered or large seeds like Pea, where you don't really have enough room, but it will work either way. ⬆️Video Overview – Seeds⬆️
Seeds - we carry a range of seeds that are primarily targeted for Sprouting and Microgreens.
The difference between these 2 classifications is that Sprouts refer to eating the whole shoot i.e. leaf, stem and roots, traditionally grown in the glass jar with gauze over the top or a lid with holes in it, personally we find using 2 sizes of colander with covers by far the best method for sprouts. When we are talking about microgreens we are referring to seeds that are grown in a medium and you just cut the leaves, be it for 2 to 2 1/2 weeks and then you replant again or baby leaf 4+ weeks, where you harvest the leaves for a longer period of time.
We also carry a small number of seeds that we personally use for cooking.
Some seeds can be grown both as a sprout and a Microgreen e.g. Massey Gem pea, Radish, Kale and Broccoli.
The seeds that I grow on a weekly basis as Microgreens are SnowPea (which gives you the bulk green leaf base for your salad, and unlike the so-called SnowPea you get at the restaurant this is a real SnowPea where the stalk does not become fibrous and chewy, just melts in your mouth), Radish Daikon (adds that Tang to your salad not to mention the health benefits), sunflower (a delightful nutty taste), Broccoli and Red Kale.
Also when we talk about Microgreens we are also talking about Baby Leaf Herbs such as Rocket, Coriander, Silver Beet, Beetroot, Basil.
Red kale is probably the most flexible as it can be grown as a Sprout, as a Microgreen (2.5 weeks), baby leaf, and a full leaf plant.
As far as sprouting is concerned I use our colander combination kit of 2 small colanders and one large 4 colander in which I grow a combination of seed types all mixed together, these being, Alfalfa, Red Clover, Broccoli, Red Kale, Radish, Fenugreek.
Another form of sprouting just to mention, is where you only sprout the seed for a few days and then you store it in the fridge and it keeps growing for another week or 2, I do this with the Red Lentils and the Massey Gem pea, these are a great addition to a salad as it gives that slight nutty flavour and a bit of crunch.
Basically I time this with a harvest of a 2.5 growth cycle of the Microgreens mix them together with the Loose Sprouts, previously mentioned, (making sure that the surface moisture of all components is minimal), and then store them in our vegetable storage system i.e. mesh bag, cotton bag, sealed plastic bag, changing the cotton bag daily, this will keep your salad extremely fresh for a week and very edible up to 2 weeks.
We also sell Chickpeas which are largely used for making Humus, which I sprout for a couple of days and then briefly boil for a couple of minutes (makes the Humus last a little longer) from which I then make the Humus, see Chickpea seed for more info. ⬆️Video Overview – Sprouting⬆️
Sprouting Kits - there are basically 2 types of sprouting systems one which is a stacked system where water is dribbled down from one layer to another, and the other is the manual rinsing method, eg glass jar with mesh lid. What we've discovered is that the basic colander combined with a Perspex lid that can breath is a much better and simpler solution. Unlike the other systems it excels in these 2 steps of the sprouting process. 1 – daily rinse and soak in nutrient rich solution (greatly increasing the nutritional benefits of your sprouts, a 1/day process). 2 – removal of un-sprouted seed and husk, which can cause bad bacteria to develop if not removed. ⬆️Video Overview – Micro-Greens⬆️
Microgreen Kits - Here we have a collection of Microgreen growing kits along with the parts that make up the kits. They are divided into groups based on the tray type used to grow the Microgreen. The kits can also be used to grow longer term green leaf herbs such as basil.
There are 2 rectangular trays to choose from one is narrower and longer this is ideal for bookshelves, window ledges or kitchen bench. The other one is not as long but wider so takes up a little bit more depth but is a little bit more flexible with a few more options e.g. variable reservoir depths, ideal for thirsty microgreens such as Snow Peas. The 3rd are 2 sizes of round trays. The Kits have optional stands which you can also attach lights to, if you do not have a well lit area to grow your microgreens. The kits come with growing medium to get you started along with organic bio activated fertiliser. Select the Product Group button to go to that Group Or Click to hide
