This kit is designed to allow you to grow one or more pot plants.
Base kit for Potted Plants 3x Shelf, 1x 330x245mm trays(Green or Yellow), 1x 100W LED Panel .The difference between this kit and the 25W kit is that this light has a 100W LED panel, both lights have no fan, i.e. no noise. Our aim is to allow you to grow as much as possible using the smallest possible space & least amount of power. So this light would come in handy if you want to grow something that requires more power eg something that requires fruiting or bud development. Like the 25W, it comes with a mix of 2 different types of white and 660nm red LEDs.
The easiest way is to purchase the small pots of herbs from your local garden shop or supermarket, this kit will allow you to extend the life of the small potted herbs. You can do this in several different ways as you can see by the various Slides. (For more info see the info on the other slides and/or Product Info. Toggle below).
The kit contains 1– medium height 3 shelf stand, 2– 100W light, 3– 250 mils of organic sprouting nutrient, 4– 1 Microgreen tray choice of colour, 5– 2L of vermiculite growing medium,6– 1 insect trap, 7– 250ml Org. based fertilizer pellets, 8– internal lifter set, 9– Optional Base Plate with extension feet, 10– adjustable height cord for alternative hanging option, connects to steel support wire 11– steel wire and hooks for alternative hanging option, 12– connecting plate with screws allowing you to connect 2 or more lights together. Click to hide.

Here we see 2 pots of herbs growing with the 100W light. Both herbs have been purchased in the small pot format and have been repotted into a larger pot along with the pelletised fertiliser. On the left our capillary mat and miniature stand is being used also we have removed the middle crossbar to allow easy access to the plant. On the right the small internal lifters have been attached and the pot is sitting on the grill. The capillary mat system allows for more water in the reservoir i.e. easier to check on the water level and need to top up less compared to the grill, or just sitting in the tray. If you have a long growing plant then probably better to use the capillary mat system and every month or so when the water level is low, remove the tray with pot take it to the sink clean and then replace. You can also do the same thing with the grill system once the roots have migrated through the grill into the reservoir. Take to the sink add running water, scru the grill from above, around the pot, with a stiff brush to remove any algae stains, then remove the grill with the pot and give the base tray a clean. Click to hide.

Here with 2 small pots of Basil purchased at the supermarket, the tray is set crosswise giving you access to both plants and the small internal lifter has been used to ensure the grill remains even. In this situation you just add water to the base of the tray through the grill. For the 1st couple of weeks you need to flood the grill so that the water comes in contact with the base of the tray but after a couple of weeks the roots will have grown through the grill into the reservoir below, at which case you just add water to the top of the grill. There is slow release fertiliser in these pots to keep the Basil growing for 6 to 8 weeks, at that time, to keep them going, you may need to add the Microgreen fertiliser with the watering. Click to hide.

Here we see our capillary mat and mini stand designed for our 3 tray types, here a Basil plant has been repotted into a larger size pot, with the addition of pelletised slow release fertiliser, 1 of the main reasons for doing this is so that you only need to add water to the base tray rather than adding nutrient, which will not look as good. It's good to have a 2nd tray so if the water does become coloured you can just swap the trays and clean the one you have removed. The pot sits on the capillary mat which is elevated to the level of the overflow channel of this tray. On the right you see a close-up of the stand and capillary mat, it can be purchased separately, found in our parts category. Click to hide.

This is a picture from our double shelf stand showing the use of 2 capillary mat mini stands per tray. Here shown growing Mint, that has been broken off from an old Mint plant and repotted into a mix of cocoa fibre and vermiculite along with slow release pelletised fertiliser. You can see how the water has become dirty, i.e. not so good to look at, so when the plants are small it's easy just to take them to the sink lift them out, then clean out the tray, replace the pots and Mat stands and fill with freshwater. If the plants become too tall then you have the option of removing another horizontal arm allowing you to do the same thing or with the help of someone else, lift the tray, replace with a clean tray, i.e. put the old tray with the pots back down onto the clean tray, then lift the pot or pots while the dirty tray is removed and replace the pots back down into the clean tray. Click to hide.

Adding a matting of green shoots to the base of your potted herb, the picture on the left shows the effect we are looking for, I will update the picture on the right as it develops. The process involves putting a sheet of paper towel on top of the grill, then covering the paper towel with a thin layer of vermiculite, then optional pelletised organic based fertiliser, then covering with another thick layer of vermiculite, place your small potted herb and then optionally sprinkle seeds on top of the vermiculite e.g. red clover will give a nice covering effect (as seen on the left) or you can use Basil as well, spray the seeds then cover again with the vermiculite. This leaves a small rectangle section at the front where you can see through the grill allowing you to add water more easily. At this stage you would initially add water mixed with nutrient until the vermiculite is thoroughly wet, this will allow the small seeds that will form a green mat around your pot plant to get started, but once this happens, you can revert back to just plain water (assuming you’ve used the pelletised fertiliser). Click to hide.

He you can see where a maximum of 5 of the small herb pots (the type you purchase at the supermarket or greengrocer), will fit into the base tray, may be useful when plants are small but a bit messy when they become large. Or maybe if you are growing a plant that does not spread e.g. chives then this may be an option. Click to hide.

The 25W & 100W LED light panels comes with a chain, we use cable ties to attach it to our light stand as this gives greater control as to how close we mount it to the tray above on the next shelf. However you can see here where we've used 2 lights they have the chain attached, which goes over the steel arm of the light stand and underneath it is constricted with a cable tie allowing you to adjust the angle of the light. Underneath that you see netting that is designed to keep the bushy plant from getting too close to the lights. The 100W panels can also be connected using the connection plate supplied with each light Click to hide

Here we see the light stand with and without the base plate & feet, notice without the base plate the power supply & cabling need to be mounted to the side. The cable connecting the power supply to the light is actually 2m long, so unless you have several shelves on top of each other, the cabling and power supply can be mounted at some distance if that is more convenient. The power board is only needed when adding additional shelves on top. Click to hide

Product Info.

This kit is designed to allow you to grow one or more pot plants.

The difference between this kit and the 25 W. kit is that this light is 100W, both lights have no fan, i.e. no noise. Our aim is to allow you to grow as much as possible using the smallest possible space & least amount of power. So this light would come in handy if you want to grow something that requires more power which is generally something that requires fruiting or bud development.

Probably the simplest way is just to put them in the base tray and water, feel the weight of the tray with the pots in it when the water has been absorbed and then just add more water when this weight diminishes, but don’t forget to leave the tray dry for a period in between watering this will stop plants becoming waterlogged.

The next easiest method is to attach the small internal grill lifter and place the pot/pots of herbs, fill the reservoir with plain water until the grill is covered, keep doing this periodically, until the roots have grown through the base of the pot and through the slots into the tray below, at this time you just need to add water through the grill into the tray below.

Another method which is similar to the one above involves putting a sheet of paper towel on top of the grill, then covering the paper towel with a thin layer of vermiculite, then optional pelletised organic based fertiliser, then covering with another thick layer of vermiculite., Place your small potted herb and then optionally sprinkle seeds on top of the vermiculite e.g. red clover will give a nice covering effect or you can use Basil as well, spray the seeds then cover again with the vermiculite. This leaves a small rectangle section at the front where you can see through the grill, allowing you to add water more easily. At this stage you would initially add water mixed with nutrient until the vermiculite is thoroughly wet, this will allow the small seeds that will form a green mat around your pot plant to get started, but once this has begun you can revert back to just plain water (assuming you’ve used the pelletised fertiliser).

And of course you also have the option of growing the plants from seed or repotting into a larger pot again as illustrated in the slides.

The kit contains: –

Base kit for Potted Plants 3x Shelf, 1x 330x245mm trays(Green or Yellow), 1x 100W LED Panel. 1– medium height 2– 100 W light, 3– 250 mils of organic sprouting nutrient, 4– 1 Microgreen tray choice of colour, 5– 2L of vermiculite growing medium, 6– 1 insect trap, 7– 250ml Org. based fertilizer pellets, 8– internal lifter set, 9– Optional Base Plate with extension feet, 10– adjustable height cord for alternative hanging option, connects to steel support wire 11– steel wire and hooks for alternative hanging option,  12– connecting plate with screws allowing you to connect 2 or more lights together.

The default height of the shelves is 390 and 330mm if you would like to substitute smaller shelf heights e.g. 320 and/or 260mm then please let us know immediately you’ve placed the order either by going to the checkout option and entering the information in the Order Notes Field, or use the Contact Us form in the footer of every page. The feet add an extra 30mm to the height of the stand.

The reason you may wish to change the height of the shelves is you want to add extra shelves on top and you want to conserve the vertical space and the pot plants you are going to grow are more bushy then height driven. Also you could select to have a high upper shelf and less height in the lower shelf, meaning you’d start your plants off on the top shelf and as they got closer to the light you move them to the based shelf.

330x245mm Tray Kits

Microgreen 330x245mm Kit 01

Basic kit 01 (Microgreen Rect. Tray 330x245mm) which gives you everything you need to get started except for the seeds. You get one tray plus a grill insert, 3 L of Vermiculite growing medium(crushed rock that has been heated to give it a popcorn like effect, good for holding air and water). 250 ml of bio activated organic fertiliser, 1 foldout insect trap, 1 Perspex tool for flattening the growing medium and pressing the seeds into it plus the option of a cover.. Microgreen 330x245mm Kit 01
2xTrays 3x5W LED

Microgreen Base kit 3x 5W LED. There are many ways you can grow microgreens and some ways depending on the seed type, for instance, growing SnowPea and Wheatgrass, is made a lot easier if you are able to lift the grill above the reservoir, this gives more room for the large root mass and also means the growing medium can stay dry alleviating the problem of seeds rotting and causing mould. The SnowPea is the Queen of green leaf and is the base of all of my salads. This is why we include the 4 tab set that sits on the outside of the reservoir (part 16 in the picture). We have also made some acrylic tweezers which help you remove ungerminated seeds, (part 8 in the picture). An acrylic flattening tool (part 9 in the picture), it’s good to press the seeds into the growing medium before you spray them to ensure they come in contact with moisture, especially when you using the cover. We give you 2 types of cable ties one narrow and one wide, the narrow one is for attaching the light bracket to the stand and securing the cable, the wider cable tie is for securing the horizontal movement of the lights, also supplying a method of securing the sticky in stray insect trap. The power supply is 36 W, so you can comfortably add 6X5 West lights i.e. another shelf without purchasing another power supply or connectors (parts 12 & 13 in picture). Part 14 attaches to the base of the grill ensuring the grill does not sag in the centre leading to an uneven distribution of water, especially useful for potted plants and punnets. Part 17 is 6 punnets that will fit into the sprouting tray, normally you would use these in a taller shelf system, they can be either placed in the base or on top of the grill, personally I just used 5 which gives me a gap at the front in the middle and I place them in the base of the tray and I can easily see when water needs to be added, you may wish to start them on the shelf and then move them to another shelf where they can grow a little bit taller. We also give you 2 trays, when in stock a choice of 2 colours, having to trays is particularly useful if you’re doing microgreens that turnaround in 2 weeks, as you can germinate the next tray on the top shelf which is sitting above the lights getting their warmth from them thus exhilarating their germination. So if you are just doing 2-3wks microgreens in the trays such as Radish, SnowPea, Kale, Broccoli, then this small height space and is all that is required. You can also grow the Coriander and Rocket in the trays with the addition of the pelletised fertiliser or you can use the punnets which is a better option, but you will need to keep them trimmed or move to a larger shelf height. Capillary Mat + Stand

Here we see our Capillary mat and mini stand designed for our 3 tray types types, 1 of the main reasons for using the capillary mat is it makes watering very easy & you can take full use of the available depth of the trays ie more water less often. It's good to have a 2nd tray so if the water does become coloured you can just swap the trays and clean the one you have removed. The pot sits on the capillary mat which is elevated to the level of the overflow channel of the tray on the left & just below the top of the other 2 tray types. Grill lifter set for 330x245mm trays

3 types of grill lifters (i.e. the white grill for the 330 x 245 mm Microgreen trays)
1 – set of 4 external lifters, used by themselves for increasing the reservoir and maintaining dryness of the growing medium e.g. for SnowPea Wheatgrass.
2 – set of 2 large lifters located underneath the tray in the centre to be used in conjunction with the 4 external lifters for stabilising the grill and increasing the water reservoir e.g. for longer term Microgreen such as Beetroot and Silver Beat or for thirsty potted plants like Mint.
3 – set of 2 smaller lifters located underneath the tray in the centre, stabilising the grill, used with punnets for medium-term microgreens such as Rocket and Coriander. The other use is with small potted herbs.

Punnets for Micro-greens

These Punnets are very handy for growing micro-greens, they give more depth for the roots. You can fit 6 per tray, comes with the option of covers.
As you can see the pictures can be used to grow sizeable small-scale leaf greens like Kale, ruby red Silver-beet (Chard), great for Rocket, also an excellent solution where people are only going to grow small amounts e.g. you can fit up to 6 per tray meaning in one tray you can have various stages of growth of the 1 or 2 Micro-greens or just grow a variety if you are a small-time Micro-green eater. Veg. Storage Kit x 1

Vegetable storage kit - this kit consists of 2 cotton bags, one mesh bag, and a clip to seal plastic bags. Can be used to store leafy greens, sprouts, vegetables in general and can also be used as a shopping/carry bag also designed to fold into a small package.
This is the method I now use to store my sprouts and salad greens also other vegetables. Leafy greens & sprouts, it's best to store them 1st in a mesh bag, any damp material will not stick to the cotton bag (meaning you do not have to wash the cotton bag every time you change it). So the simple procedure is put the leafy greens inside the mesh bag, zip it up, place inside the cotton bag, then place inside a plastic bag that doesn't have any holes in it, gently squeeze the air out and secure with the clip. Microgreen Stand Shelf for a single 330x245mm tray. You have the option of 2 different shelf heights i.e. distance between the tray and the lights. It also has the option of including a Perspex shelf. Other advantages of using the Perspex shelf are that you can use a different type of pot plant i.e. that doesn’t use our rectangular tray, may be aesthetically more pleasing, also the Perspex shelf will diminish the possibility of spillage as it will collect 1st on the Perspex before dripping down onto either the floor or 1 of the lights in particular 25 W light is not waterproof whereas the 5 and 10W. and 100W lights are. Microgreen LED Kit 15W-30W

Microgreen LED Kit 15W-30W
This kit gives you the parts and options to either attach 3 or 6  5W LED Microgreen lights to our stand or connect directly to a piece of wood e.g a cupboard shelf.
The advantage of these lights are that they are low-power, high quality (Samsung LED), they are only operating at about 80% intensity, due to the losses in the 2m attachment cable, meaning they will last a very very long time. They are also extremely water resistant so any spillage is not a problem and spreading 3 across the top of the trays gives a very even spread of light.
So you get the base kit (what is inside the red line and various options e.g. the power supply and breakout cabling can support up to 6 lights so there is the option of an extra 3 lights, what this means is that adding these gives you the ability to use 2 shelves if using our stand. Also if using our stand you you will need to choose the option of our acrylic brackets, which comes with cable ties allowing for securing the cable in a neat manner and also the attachment of 1 sticky insect trap per shelf or if you want to mount say to the underside of a bookshelf, then you have the option of a clip that can be screwed into the wood on the underside, coming with a nylon washer to create a small airgap for better cooling. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product or Click to hide.

Microgreen LED Kit 15W-30W
Microgreen LED Kit 25W

Microgreen LED Kit 25W
A 25 W. LED light panel with a mix of white and red LEDs, meaning you can grow a wide range of vegetables or even flower/fruiting plants. It comes with a 2m extension cable power supply and steel cable. We also supply cable ties which are much more flexible when connecting to our stands and also with regard to securing the cable to the vertical sections of the stand at the rear.
1 of the advantages is that the LEDs are enclosed in a reflective cone, this narrows the spread of each LED, meaning more intensity.
The only downside of this light is that it is not water resistant so you have to be very careful about spillage from trays above. If you do have a spillage make sure you get the sponge out and get rid of excess water as quickly as possible, if you have the time then there are a couple of preventative measures you can take the 1st 1 is just to run a silicon bead around the edges and over the screws heads, this will create a small dam that will enable you time to remove the water before it seeps down underneath, the other alternative is to cover with aluminium foil as you will see displayed in a later slide. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product or Click to hide.

Microgreen LED Kit 25W
Microgreen Herb LED Kit 100W

Microgreen Herb LED Kit 100W
This is our 100 W. LED, which can be used for larger plants it comes with a mix of white LEDs giving it full spectrum with the addition of 660 nm red LEDs, allowing for a wide range of vegetables to be grown, along with flower and fruiting types. You can see from the picture that if you are mounting it on the top of the stand it is very easy as it matches our stand dimensions perfectly and just rests in place. The light is water resistant so light spillage is not a problem. The parts that come with it are 1- mains power cable connecting to the power supply which is mounted on top of the light, 1.8 m close, 2- metal cable connectors 3- and adjustable extension cable allowing you to move the light up and down, not really applicable if using with our stand but if using in another application could be very useful if your ceiling is high, 4- a connector plate which allows you to connect the lights together i.e. you could connect them 1, 2, 3 or 4 in a row and then you only need one cable to hold it up, which again could be connected to the movable extension cable, or you could increase the grow area by connecting 4 together in a square. The picture on the right shows a basil plant being grown on a pillory Matt, sitting in 1 of our Microgreen trays, the mid-front crossbar has been removed allowing you to easily remove the plant and tray if you would like to clean the base or for any other reason. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide + Pipette + Optional 750ml Spray Bottle.
I use Hydrogen Peroxide or H2O2 in a spray bottle for Microgreens i.e. spraying the seeds and the paper towel at the base of the tray.
The H2O2 has 2 functions one is it releases oxygen into the water and it also counteracts any mould that may lie dormant attached to the outside of the seeds.
I recommend adding 3 mls to a 750 ml spray bottle, a full pipette is 3 mls. It is generally recommended to keep the H2O2 in the refrigerator to minimise evaporation, I personally store in the freezer, it does not freeze, further reducing its tendency to evaporate. 470x170mm Tray Kits

Tray with Grill 470x170mm

This basic kit (Microgreen Rect. Tray 470x170mm + Grill) which gives you everything you need to get started except for the seeds. You get 1 tray(Grey or Terracotta col.), a grill insert (with extras) used for microgreens or supporting small pot plants, 2L of Vermiculite growing medium(crushed rock that has been heated to give it a popcorn like effect, good for holding air and water). 250ml of bio activated organic fertiliser, 1 fold-out insect trap, 1 Perspex tool for flattening the growing medium and pressing the seeds into it.
You also have the option of a cover this is highly recommended if you are growing microgreens such as Broccoli, Kale, Radish, SnowPea, but obviously not necessary if using for small pots or if you growing longer term microgreens i.e. longer than 2 or 3 weeks e.g. Rocket, Cress, Coriander as these are best covered by another layer of the Vermiculite so not needing the cover. Window Ledge Base Kit

Base Kit for indoor Window Ledge Micro-greens or Herbs. The kit is designed to help you grow micro-greens and herbs on narrow indoor window ledges, it comes with the option of 2 different coloured base trays and 2 different types of stabilisation. If you have a very narrow window ledge i.e. 75 mm then the only option is to use the weight option, the tray is already set such that the centre of gravity is slightly towards the window but you will need to add the extra weights if you have this narrow area to work with otherwise you can use the extension arms. It also comes with the option of microgreens/herb organic based fertiliser and vermiculite, in most situations you would need this for growing microgreens, but you may have your own solutions so we do not added as a standard, also if you just want to put pot plants in the trays you may not need this. You can add extra options to this kit depending on what it is you wish to grow, you can also add an extra vertical shelf above. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product Or Click to hide

Window Ledge Base Kit
Light Stand Book shelf, Bench

Base Kit for Bookshelf / Bench Top Light Stand. The kit is designed to help you grow micro-greens or herbs on a kitchen bench top or bookshelf or similar where you have limited depth. You have the option of 2 heights the smaller height is ideal for micro-greens and comes with 2x 10 W lights, the larger height can be used to grow small potted herbs and comes with 3x 10 W. lights. As you will see in the following pictures there is a range of different ways in which you can do the micro-greens or potted herbs, these can be purchased separately in the parts section for this particular tray type. If you are choosing the 2 shelf option then you need to select 1 of the tray, colour options as the 2nd shelf needs the support arms to support the trays as well as to attach the lights.
With regard to the light/tray support arms, there are 2 types. One type is narrow will & just designed to fit the width of our rectangular tray (this 1 is used on the base shelf, although most people will just remove the front bar and place the growing micro-greens or pot plants plants directly on the shelf or bench, if you don't need the extra room i.e. growing microgreens, then you can leave the front metal cross piece & place the tray on the base arms and place the insect traps underneath. The other one is wider and allows you to place the extra i.e. 2nd or 3rd light (also to note they are attached to these arms with a rotating connection), this is very convenient when growing in a bookshelf as you can pivot the outer light back in towards the cupboard back wall. Note if you are just going to use it on a kitchen bench-top, and you do not want the support arms/light extending out past the edge of the trays then please let us know and we'll exchange the longer arms for short arms, the short arms will support up to 4 lights. 470x170mm Kit (Parts)

Microgreen Tray (470x175x28)mm

Microgreen tray, it is 470mm long, 175mm wide and 28mm deep. Made from high quality UV stable PP 5, made in Italy. It is currently the one that we use for our narrow shelf stands e.g. Window Ledge, Bookshelf/Kitchen Bench. You can use this as is i.e. just to sit pot plants in. You can add capillary mat stands, 3 will fit in this length of tray. If you wish to grow the Microgreens using our grill that fits into this tray type, then in it can be purchased as a separate kit (we do not sell these separately because they are subject to damage if not shipped with a tray). Window Ledge Extra Shelf

This kit is the extra shelf that you can attach to our window ledge base kit you can choose between 2 colour trays and different heights of the 2nd shelf. On the left we are just growing micro-greens in punnets, on the right we are growing micro-greens in punnets on the bottom shelf which are also sitting on a grill (these can be added separately to you order) and on the top shelf we have herbs growing in pots. So if you're growing small height plants like micro-greens i.e. short-term (2 weeks) then you can get away with the smaller height, however if you growing taller plants than you need the extra height as generally the sun will come through the window at an angle, meaning that the tray at the base will receive less sunlight than the tray at the top.
