Azomite

AZOMITE

Azomite is a mineral and trace element supplement for plants and animals, it is a volcanic ash mined from a 30 million year old volcanic deposit. It is not a typical rock dust. It is a very complicated product in the sense that it contains 67 + chemical elements, most in an oxide form along with trace and rare earth minerals. This product has been subjected to rigorous testing and has been approved for use in large-scale Organic Plant and Livestock production in the US.

Azomite application rates in kg

AZOMITE will not burn plants and can be applied directly or with compost, humus, manures, other fertilizers beneficial soil microbials, and used in compost tea productions.

Flowers/Plants/Vegetables

When preparing the soil, use AZOMITE^® at the rate of 0.5 kg. per 1 sq. m. If in rows, mix into the soil along the rows at rate of 0.6 kg. per 1 m. of row. If bed is established, sprinkle around each plant. For house plants, mix 1 teaspoon per 5 cm pot diameter with potting soil before planting. Give 1 teaspoon quarterly thereafter. For roses, apply 0.5 kg. to the soil around each plant and lightly till into soil.

 Citrus/Fruit/Vines

Apply annually to all trees on ground surface under the drip line at the rate of 0.5 to 2 kg, depending on the tree size. (Refer to table above for more guidelines.) Double the application for decline or blight stricken trees. For grapes, apply 0.25 to 0.5 kg. to the soil around each plant and lightly till into soil.

Lawn/Turf Care

For existing lawns, a 20kg bag will cover 1115 to 1400 square m. Apply up to 4 times per year. For new lawns, apply at a heavier rate and till into soil before planting seed or laying sod.

Ornamentals/Shrubs/Trees

Apply annually to all trees on ground surface under the drip line. Recommended application for trees:

Apply light coating from trunk to drip line. For ornamentals and shrubs, apply 0.25 to 0.5 kg. to the soil around each plant and lightly till into soil.

Field Crops

Apply 34 – 68 kg. per acre initially followed by annual maintenance of 22 – 45 kg. per acre or according to needs based on soil quality.
