This basic kit (Microgreen Rect. Tray 470x170mm) which gives you everything you need to get started except for the seeds. You get 1 tray(Grey or Terracotta col.), 6x Punnets, 3L of Vermiculite growing medium(crushed rock that has been heated to give it a popcorn like effect, good for holding air and water). 250 ml of bio activated organic fertiliser, 1 fold-out insect trap, 1 Perspex tool for flattening the growing medium and pressing the seeds into it. Click to hide.

This perspex tool can be used as a cover, really useful for the large seeds such as Pea, also for some of the smaller seeds, it's handy because you do not have 2 worry so much about the vermiculite or soil sticking to the leaves. Also with regard to the Pea microgreens, being able to remove the cover and then remove any seeds that are not germinating or have any mould, so is not 100% necessary but it's very handy to have at least one as it is used to firstly flatten the surface of the growing medium, and then to gently press the seeds into the growing medium, so that the moisture from the growing medium comes in contact with the seeds (more important with respect to large seeds like peas where you are just using the cover) also if you are covering with a medium then use this tool to press the covering material down onto the seeds. So you get the option of an extra 5 of these tools as one comes standard with the kit. Click to hide

Here we see Rocket microgreens which have been covered by a thin layer of the Vermiculite this is about 3 wks. Note I've only used 5 punnets allowing a bit of space between each 1. Another use of the punnets is that if you are only wanting small quantities and lots of varieties you could have 6 punnets active but at different stages of growth. Click to hide

Rocket which has been covered by a thin layer of the Vermiculite i.e. for germination, this is about 4 weeks.
Here seen growing in 1 of our 2 shelf light stands designed to fit in small depth spaces such as cupboard or kitchen bench. Click to hide

Here we see Coriander being grown in the cupboard/kitchen bench light stand, at about 4 wks. You can also see that the tray is sitting on a Perspex lifter which elevates the tray closer to the lights until the herbs are taller. This lifter can also be used for the 330x245mm trays. Of course if you know what microgreens you going to grow then you can just use a shorter shelf height to begin with. Click to hide.
