Sprout Kit Sm. x1

Basic sprouting kit consisting of 1 sprouting colanders with covers along with 250 mls of bio activated organic nutrients + Storage options(2 X cotton bags, mesh bag, plastic bag clip). Ideal for the beginner who does not do huge quantities e.g. if you just want to do Broccoli, when the colanders is almost full you can start eating and or store in the fridge using the storage options(2 X cotton bags, mesh bag, plastic bag clip) then restart your next batch. Sprout Kit Sm. Cover Clip

There are 2 ways to secure the clear cover to the colander. In this picture we show the clip being used, I use the clip during the sprouting process and the silicon plug when I store it in the fridge. The advantage of the clip is that if you align it with the base where the hole in the handle is situated the inner grill is slightly elevated allowing the perfect amount of air to flow underneath and then up through the sprouts and out through the holes in the cover. It can also be aligned the other way and in that case it will sit flat due to the indentation in the base of the colander at the other end.
In the picture you see it set at an angle, I use this feature to let it sit for 5 minutes after I have done the rinse and soak procedure as it accelerates drainage at this angle and then return it to the aforementioned position. Click to hide.

Sprouting colander 1.5 L showing showing another way of attaching the cover using a clip, increasing the aeration of the sprouts. There are basically 4 different options - small gap, medium gap(shown here), 45° tilt and removing the inner bowl and placing it on a flat plate or in a larger bowl. Click to hide.

Sprout Kit Sm. Broccoli

Here we see 1 of the small colanders full and ready to eat with Broccoli sprouts, just to note this is really full and if you are going to store in the fridge with the Perspex cover it's best if the sprouts are not touching the cover as there will be condensation, and the trick to keeping your sprouts from going off is to ensure that they are not sitting in pools of water. Sprout Cover Sm. Silicon plug

Here we see the cover being attached to the colander using the silicon plug, I use this method of attachment when storing in the fridge. Click to hide.

Cleaning Sm Colander
PlayPlay

A short video on how to clean your colander, we provide a small tool with our Sprout kits that fits the shape of the grill insert which chops the top of any sprouts caught in the grill making cleaning that much more simple. Click to hide.

Sprout Kit Loose Large Greening on Light Stand

Here we see 3 small colanders sitting on the base of a single shelf light stand which has a white Perspex base for this purpose (the base also serves the purpose of hiding the cables & Power Packs for the lights). This extra light without heat accelerates the greening process. Click to hide.

Sprout Storage Cotton bag

This picture shows the parts you get for storage of your sprouts in the fridge, process described on the next slide. Click to hide.

Sprout Cover Sm. Silicon plug

This is the method I now use to store my sprouts and salad greens also other vegetables. If it is leafy greens like sprouts then it's best to store them 1st in a mesh bag, the reason for this is that any damp material will not stick to the cotton bag (meaning you do not have to wash the cotton bag every time you change it). So the simple procedure is put the leafy greens inside the mesh bag, zip it up, place inside the cotton bag, then place inside a plastic bag that doesn't have any holes in it, gently squeeze the air out and secure with the clip.
We supply 2 cotton bags with this kit, the reason being is that, no matter how carefully you remove the surface moisture, there will always be some remaining, meaning that when you take your sprouts out after a day or 2 you will find the cotton bag may be quite damp so the cotton bag, hang the moist one up to dry. Click to hide.

Vegetable storage – cotton bag

Here we see the procedure for storing some vegetables, in this case a cob of corn and a cucumber. Step one is to make sure you remove any surface moisture (just leave them in a well aired place for a few hours and this will happen) wrap each 1 in a paper towel then place in the cotton bag, then inside the plastic bag, remove the air and secure with the clip supplied if the paper towel becomes damp just replace it before the cotton bag becomes saturated. Click to hide.

Vegetable storage – cotton bag

This cotton bag is also designed to be used as a carry bag, it comes with handles for your hand which are also used as part of the folding mechanism i.e. folds into a small package so it can easily fit inside your normal carry bag when you go vegetable shopping i.e. the one that fits over your shoulder, this 1 can be used to carry delicate fruit/veggies and comes with a convenient handgrip. Folding process shown on the next slide. Click to hide.

Vegetable storage – cotton bag

Here we see the process of using the handle strap to secure a small folded version of the bag. Step one is to fold in thirds, step 2 flip over so the open part of the strap handle is on the top, again fold in thirds, on top of one another, with the final fold going through the strap. Product Info...

Basic sprouting kit consisting of 1 sprouting colanders with cover + Storage options(2 X cotton bags, mesh bag, plastic bag clip), 2 attachment options, one I tend to use during the sprouting process and the 2nd 1 I tend to use when storing in the fridge, your preference may be different. We also include a small cleaning tool that makes removing the sprout roots from the slots much easier, it works with both the small and large colanders.
We’ve also included a selection of seed combinations, if the one you would like is not there then please let us know and if it’s a common request we will add it. Along with 250 mls of bio activated organic nutrients(This also comes with the option of the addition of worm farm liquid, by default we do not add it as most people find the idea of worm wee not very attractive, however I use it as I try to get as much biodiversity when it comes to nutrients into my sprouts as possible, so bottom line if you’d like us to include it please drop us an email notification as soon as possible after you’ve processed your order and we will include it). e.g. if you just want to do Broccoli, when 1 of the colanders is almost full you can start eating and or store in the fridge and then start the other one so you have a consistent supply.

The way that I now do it is using the combination of mesh bag, cotton bag, plastic bag. The trick being with this method is to make sure the sprouts are not too wet, so for the last 2 days you leave the sprouts at an angle in the colander without the cover. After one day take the sprouts and turn them upside down so that the moisture at the bottom gets a chance to dry out for the final day. You may also wish to add the cover during the night just to ensure there are no unwanted visitors to your sprouts during the evening.

Sprout Kit Sm. x 2
Sprout Kit Lg. x 1 + Sm. x 2

Sprouting kit 2 small sprouting colanders with covers plus one large 4L colander with cover along with 250ml of bio activated organic nutrients + Storage options(2 X cotton bags, mesh bag, plastic bag clip). Ideal for those people that eat a lot of sprouts as you can wait until the 2 small ones are full or three quarters full and then add them to the large one which you store in the fridge, after a few more days of cleaning and rinsing, and then start the process again in the small ones while eating from the large one, again so you have a constant supply. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product Or Click to hide.

Sprout Kit Lg. x 1 + Sm. x 2
Sprout Kit Lg. x 1

Sprouting kit 1 large colander with cover + Storage options(2 x cotton bags, 2 x mesh bags, plastic bag clip ) for the early stage of sprouting (instead of the small colanders) +250 ml of bio-activated nutrients for sprouting with seed selection. So the idea with this kit is you use 1 of the mesh bags to grow your sprouts for the 1st say 4 days, you then empty them into the large colander for the final stages of cleaning (removal of husk) and greening. When the sprouts are ready you stop soaking and draining them and leave them to dry for a couple of days and then store them in the other mesh bag inside the cotton bag inside a plastic bag. You can then start sprouting again in your other mesh bag or if you have another spare colander you can begin this process earlier. This saves you the cost of extra small colanders with covers but not quite as convenient in my opinion. Select the Product Name button to go to that Product Or Click to hide.

Sprout Kit Lg. x 1
Sprout Kit Lg. Mung

Growing Super Mung bean Sprouts using one large 4 L colander +2 KG of pebbles to weigh the sprouts +1 KG of Mung bean and bio-activated super organic nutrients.
Growing the mung bean in the long white format. This can be done by putting it in a space that restricts its growth or similarly, as we have done here, placing a weight on top of the sprouts, along with the tea towel this serves the purpose of also keeping the light out i.e. so the leaf development is restricted.
We give you the option of purchasing this kit with or without the cover, if you are just doing mung beans then you do not need the cover, however if you want to use it to do normal sprouts then you can sprout the seeds in the mesh bag for say 3 – 4 days, and then empty them into the large colander and proceed with the sprouting process from there, in this case you will need the cover.
We also supply you with our sprouts/vegetable storage system this allows you to store your sprouts in the fridge for well over a week. . Select the Product Name button to go to that Product Or Click to hide.
