Micro-Green Herb Window Ledge Base

This product is primarily designed to help you grow micro green sprouts on a variety of indoor window ledge types.

Using this system where you grow your micro-greens in a combination of Vermiculite and organic nutrients in small micro punnets is the most efficient method for small scale micro green production on a range of indoor window ledges. You simply use the number of punnets required for each meal, then empty, rinse clean under cold water, add a small amount of the vermiculite, spray, cover with germination cover.

The best micro-greens to grow in this fashion are Snow Peas & Radish, these 2 are the most rewarding in as far as the amount of green and the speed to harvest, other options that work successfully with this method are Cress, Broccoli, Kale.

Base Kit for indoor Window Ledge Micro-greens or Herbs. The kit is designed to help you grow micro-greens and herbs on narrow indoor window ledges, it comes with the option of 2 different coloured base trays and 2 different types of stabilisation. If you have a very narrow window ledge i.e. 75 mm then the only option is to use the weight option, the tray is already set such that the centre of gravity is slightly towards the window but you will need to add the extra weights if you have this narrow area to work with otherwise you can use the extension arms. It also comes with the option of microgreens/herb organic based fertiliser and vermiculite, in most situations you would need this for growing microgreens, but you may have your own solutions so we do not added as a standard, also if you just want to put pot plants in the trays you may not need this. With the addition of micro punnets, here we see Rocket microgreens which has been covered by a thin layer of the Vermiculite this is about 3 wks. Note I've only used 5 punnets allowing a bit of space between each 1. Another use of the punnets is that if you are only wanting small quantities and lots of varieties you could have 6 punnets active but at different stages of growth. You could also place these punnets on top of the grill, which would give you just under a litre reservoir i.e. less watering which may be advantageous in hot weather. Click to hide

Here we see the Capillary Mat with Stand, 3 these fit inside the 450 mm standard tray, although I would tend to use just 2 depending on the size of the plant. This is a small store purchase pot of parsley, as you can see the capillary mat stand combination supports larger size pots. The capillary mat siphons water from the reservoir up into the pot, especially efficient when the roots begin to emerge. Click to hide
