2 x 1.5ltr Colanders Small with clear Perspex covers with (clips and silicon plugs), a colander cleaning tool, along with 250 mls of organic nutrients there are many different sprouters available, the best we have found is also the cheapest(now that’s a nice change) & that is a BPA free plastic colander which has narrow slots & comes with a drainage bowl. This is a quality 1.5ltr colanders manufactured in Japan, they can be used with seed sizes ranging down to that of Alfalfa and Red Clover, which will double their size once they are soaked i.e. soak separately overnight 8 – 12 hours in the base of the colander or better still a ceramic or glass bowl. If you ever stop using it for sprouting you will find many other uses for it.

The method of storing the sprouts is just a store them inside the colander with the metal clip and silicon plug attached, t, excess moisture condenses on the cover and drops through the grill into the colander base bowl.
Most modern fridges are designed to be frost free, and in the process keeps the air dry, this is not ideal for sprouts, that’s why fridges try to create a little bit more humidity in their crisper section. But you still have to negotiate condensation, hence the ribs in the base of the crisper. Our Sprouting Colanders solves these 2 issues i.e. sprouts drying out, getting rid of excess condensation which occurs if you store them inside a container with no aeration or drainage solution.
